Job Description

Caregivers Part Time Salary:
$21 - $23/hr + $1 weekend differential Feel good about what you do! Valid and Qualified NYS Driver's License Required! At the Children's Residential Program within BCCS, you can become an everyday hero, we'll train you! Our wide range of programs and services gives you a job network that has mobility, diversity, and flexibility. Join us and provide educational and therapeutic services to children with developmental delays or disabilities—in beautiful, seascape locations of Lido Beach & Wantagh offering sports such as horseback riding, baseball, bike riding, and swimming. We even provide classes with music, arts & crafts, cooking, movement dance and more! In this role, you will: Provide ongoing support to people in becoming active participants in every aspect of their lives (i.e., self-care routines, health, safety, household chores, socialization and overall well-being) and to ensure that a high quality of life is maintained. Ensure a safe and clean home by providing support to people to assist them with the completion of household chores and by participating in said household chores as needed. Support people in preparing meals by teaching concepts such as diet adherence, portion control and cooking skills; as well as assisting people with medication administration according to the AMAP policy and procedures. Implement and document all treatment plans and other agency related materials to assist people in achieving independence in their selected valued outcomes and to ensure their health, safety and well-being. Provide transportation to people supported for medical appointments, shopping, recreational outings and any other transportation needs. Mentor new Direct Support Staff by demonstrating supportive routines and by reviewing training manuals to ensure new employees are sufficiently groomed to complete responsibilities.
