Personal Care Aide (PCA)

Public Partnerships LLC (PPL)
Program:
New York State Consumer-Directed Personal Assistance / Self-Directed Services Position Summary The Personal Care Aide (PCA) provides authorized non-medical personal care and supportive services to individuals enrolled in New York State consumer-directed programs administered by Public Partnerships LLC (PPL). Services are delivered in accordance with the participant's approved Plan of Care and applicable New York State Department of Health regulations. The PCA supports the participant in maintaining health, safety, independence, and community living. Duties and Responsibilities Provide assistance with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including, but not limited to: Bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene Mobility assistance, positioning, and transfers Assist with Instrumental Activities of Daily Living (IADLs) as authorized: Meal preparation and feeding assistance Light housekeeping related to the participant's care Laundry, shopping, and errands Provide medication reminders in accordance with New York State regulations (no medication administration unless otherwise authorized) Accompany or assist the participant with medical appointments and community activities as approved Provide supervision and companionship to ensure participant safety and well-being Observe, document, and report changes in the participant's condition to the participant or designated representative Maintain accurate timesheets and required documentation using PPL-approved systems Comply with all PPL policies, New York State Department of Health regulations, and program requirements Maintain participant confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and state privacy laws Perform services in a manner that respects the participant's dignity, preferences, and cultural values Qualifications Must meet eligibility requirements established by Public Partnerships LLC and New York State programs Ability to perform physical tasks associated with personal care assistance Dependable, professional, and capable of working independently Effective communication and interpersonal skills Completion of required background checks, health clearances, and program training as mandated Work Conditions Services are provided in the participant's private residence or approved community settings Work schedule and authorized hours are determined by the participant's Plan of Care Position operates under a consumer-directed model, with the participant serving as the managing employer Compliance Statement The Personal Care Aide is responsible for performing all duties in compliance with applicable federal, New York State, and local laws, regulations, and guidelines governing consumer-directed personal assistance services.
