Hospice & Palliative Care, Home of The Pickering House, is seeking a compassionate part-time night shift STNA to join our inpatient hospice team. In this role, you will provide hands-on personal care, comfort, and support to patients and families while working closely with nurses and other care professionals to uphold the hospice philosophy and deliver the best possible end-of-life care experience. Our STNAs play a meaningful role role in helping patients feel safe, comfortable, and cared for during their hospice journey. The ideal candidate is dependable, caring, and committed to providing individualized support with dignity, respect, and extra TLC for our patients and their loved ones. Responsibilities Provide personal care and light housekeeping services as directed in the patient's individualized plan of care. Assist with direct physical care, including bathing, showering, grooming, shaving, mouth care, nail care, and hair care. Support toileting and bathroom-related needs, including use of bedpan, urinal, toilet, catheter care assistance, intake and output recording, and ostomy care as directed. Provide skin care and reinforce or change non-sterile dressings as directed by nurse or supervisor. Take and record temperature, pulse, respirations, and weight as directed. Assist with active and passive range-of-motion exercises as directed by a nurse or supervisor. Change linens and make occupied or unoccupied beds. Assist patients with supportive equipment such as canes, walkers or wheelchairs. Deliver and assist with meal trays. Notify the nurse immediately of changes in a patient's physical or mental condition, unusual complaints, accidents and emergency situations. Document direct services and ongoing communication with patients, families and community providers electronically. Maintain HIPAA compliance at all times.
Physical Setting:
Inpatient care unit. Occasional work in additional healthcare settings. Driving may be required.
Work Location:
Inpatient care unit located on main campus in Lancaster, Ohio. Service area coverage throughout Fairfield, Hocking, Perry and surrounding counties. Qualifications Current State Tested Nursing Assistant certificate through the Ohio Department of Health . Must demonstrate great communication and social interaction skills, as well as, be a compassionate individual to work with other professionals and patients and families who face a vulnerable time in their lives. Ability to manage time efficiently. Must have and maintain a valid driver's license, good driving record and auto accident insurance at a level acceptable to FAIRHOPE and/or FAIRHOPE's insurer. Computer skills required. End of life care and/or healthcare setting experience preferred. About
