Job Description
Overview Join our dedicated team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) on the Second Shift and become a vital part of empowering individuals with developmental disabilities to live fulfilling, independent lives. In this role, you will provide compassionate, personalized care to residents in a supportive environment, ensuring their safety, well-being, and happiness. This position offers an energetic and rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference every day while working in a dynamic team committed to excellence in care. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary. Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and maintain detailed documentation using the Medication Administration Record Monitor vital signs and observe for signs of health changes or emergencies, responding promptly and appropriately. Support residents with memory care needs, including dementia and Alzheimer's care, employing effective behavior management techniques. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements and assist with feeding as needed. Engage residents in social activities and community outings, promoting social interaction and personal development. Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks and adhering to infection control protocols. Document resident progress, incidents, and care activities thoroughly to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. Drive residents to appointments or community events when required, ensuring safe transportation practices. Experience Prior experience working in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of long-term care practices, including Alzheimer's and dementia care. Experience assisting with ADLs and providing personal care in a compassionate manner. Familiarity with RCA systems for documentation and record keeping. Valid driver's license for transportation duties is advantageous. Certification in first aid and CPR is desirable but not mandatory; training can be provided if needed. Proven ability to work effectively with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges in group home or residential settings. Pay:
