As a FirstLight caregiver, you will provide assistance with activities of daily living to clients in their homes, allowing them to maintain their independence, comfort and dignity, while also supporting their physical, social and emotional needs. Join our team and discover the FirstLight difference. Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting. Provide patient care by monitoring vital signs and observing changes in health status. Support clients with meal preparation and cooking nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks. Assist with mobility needs, including the use of Hoyer lifts when necessary. Administer medications as prescribed and ensure adherence to care plans. Engage clients in meaningful activities to promote social interaction and mental stimulation. Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the overall well-being of clients. Document patient observations and report any concerns to the supervising nurse or care manager. Uphold HIPAA regulations to protect client confidentiality at all times. Skills Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
Caregiving experience Reasoning abilities:
evaluate situations and make complex decisions using critical thinking and reasoning. Knowledge of dementia care techniques and approaches for effective communication with individuals experiencing memory loss. Compassionate and communicative nature with a genuine desire to help others improve their quality of life. Reliable and punctual Kind, patient and responsible Requirements Previous experience in caregiving roles such as home health aide, nursing assistant, or similar positions is preferred. Knowledge of first aid and CPR certification is highly desirable. Experience working with individuals with dementia, or Alzheimer's care is a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required for patient mobility assistance. Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and reporting changes in condition. Familiarity with cleaning protocols and maintaining hygiene standards in caregiving settings. Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills to interact effectively with clients and their families. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in various environments including group homes, nursing homes, and hospice care settings.
