Active Independence Oregon is searching for empathetic, reliable, and enthusiastic Personal Growth Advocates to support adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in achieving greater independence. In this role, you'll work directly with clients in their homes and communities, guiding them through a variety of meaningful activities that encourage personal growth, skill-building, and connection. Personal Growth Advocates provide support tailored to each individual's needs, focusing on developing everyday life skills such as social interactions, household management, attending appointments, and accessing community resources. You'll also facilitate fun, engaging outings and recreational opportunities to help clients build friendships and live vibrant, fulfilling lives. As part of our team, you'll receive comprehensive training, ongoing mentorship, and opportunities for personal and professional growth—all while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others. RESPONSIBILITIES
Collaborate with clients to set and achieve realistic goals based on their abilities and interests. Teach essential life skills, such as budgeting, grocery shopping, and communication. Provide companionship and foster positive, supportive relationships with clients. Facilitate outings to promote community integration and participation in recreational activities. Maintain accurate and detailed notes on client progress and the support provided. Report significant changes in clients' health, behavior, or needs to the appropriate team members. QUALIFICATIONS
Must be at least 18 years of age. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage a flexible schedule. A positive, professional attitude and commitment to treating others with dignity and respect. High level of dependability and accountability. Enthusiasm for supporting individuals with developmental disabilities to achieve their goals. Ability to meet clients' physical, social, and emotional needs. Physical ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, squat, and lift up to 30 lbs. Ability to pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening. Reliable transportation. If transporting clients, a valid Oregon driver's license, a clean driving record, and current auto insurance are required. Preferred but not required:
Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities. Associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field. BENEFITS
