Job Description

Are you looking to encourage growth and promote positive, healthy lives? CONCERN is a non-profit human services organization dedicated to providing child welfare, juvenile justice, and behavioral health services to children and their families. Since 1978, CONCERN has brought hope, offered opportunity, and inspired change in the communities that we serve. Our Bethlehem office is searching for a part-time FCRP Respite Worker. The ideal candidate will provide temporary relief and support to individuals and families caring for children and youth with mental health conditions. This role involves working closely with clients to ensure their safety, well-being, and engagement in activities, providing caregivers with much-needed respite. Services are short-term and time-limited, without overnight care, and can be delivered on a planned/scheduled basis or short notice, depending on respite resource availability. They are designed to fit various family schedules, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends. The FCRP Worker typically provides in-home and/or site-based group respite care and occasional out-of-home respite care. They do not provide respite care in their personal home and do not offer client transportation. What Do I Need? Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent Other Requirements Must be at least 19 years of age. Must maintain required state and federal criminal and child abuse clearances, credentials, and/or licenses. What Will I Do? Provide respite services to children/youth in a defined respite setting. Collaborate with primary caregivers to help identify the schedule and type of respite needed. Plan and facilitate recreational and social activities that align with the clients strengths, abilities, and interests. Provide a safe, clean, and supportive environment for clients in site-based respite locations. Maintain open and effective communication with clients, their families, and the respite team. Complete documentation electronically as needed for the program accurately and promptly. Prepare and serve meals or snacks provided by the client's family during the respite booking. Assist the client with taking oral medication as needed during the respite period.
