Job Overview •This Position Currently Has A $500 Signing/Retention Bonus After 90 Days•The Care Giver position at Surrey is a vital piece of our Home Care Organization. Care Givers provide assistance with daily life activities such as bathing, dressing and grooming. Additional tasks may include medication reminders, light housework, meal preparation, transportation to appointments, socializing and other activities. The perfect candidate will have a desire to help older adults remain active and engaged in their homes and communities! Sample of Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance. Assisting with mobility (transferring from bed to chair, chair to car, walking, etc.) Light meal preparation and feeding. Transporting to doctors and other appointments. Providing light housekeeping. Keeping care logs to detail care. Socializing and other activities. Required Skills and Abilities Be self-directed with the ability to work with little direct supervision Have empathy for the needs to the ill, injured, frail and impaired Be flexible and cooperative in fulfilling the obligations of this role Demonstrate tact, patience, and good personal hygiene Understand the required confidentiality procedures regarding client information Demonstrate good communication and customer service skills Requirements & Conditions Must be at least 18 years of age Must have at least 1 year of working with older adults with personal care needs ( or go through paid Surrey Academy training to gain skills ) Must pass competency testing or have an active CNA license Must possess and maintain good physical stamina and mental health, present pre-employment physician's health clearance, including negative 2-step TB skin tests or x-ray Must have proficiency with the English language, including the ability to read, write, follow written directions and document services provided Must be able to receive and respond to electronic communications and correspondence; must be comfortable with technology such as phones and computers and be comfortable learning new computer software Must be a licensed driver with an automobile in good working order and insured in accordance with the state and organization requirements Must be able to pass all background checks, including state and federal criminal background checks Must have lived in PA for at least 2 consecutive years, or will need to pass an FBI fingerprint background check

From $17.00 per hour
