We are seeking a compassionate and caring Personal Care Aide to join our team at William Penn Senior Suites, an apartment-style assisted living facility. As a Personal Care Aide, you will play a vital role in providing personalized care and assistance to our residents, promoting their independence and well-being.
Responsibilities:
Provide assistance with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming Assist with medication management and administration Provide support with mobility and transfers Assist with lifting, transferring, and positioning residents Maintain resident confidentiality and dignity at all times Participate in care planning and develop strong relationships with residents and families Collaborate with the care team to ensure comprehensive care Provide verbal encouragement and support to residents Assisting with activities of daily living, such as feeding, toileting, and ambulating Providing basic knowledge of normal and abnormal aging sensory changes and relationship to resident safety Serving food trays and assisting with feeding as indicated
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent required At least one year of experience with the elderly preferred Successfully complete the PA State Personal Care Training Program Possess a supportive and caring attitude towards residents and families Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language Ability to follow written and oral instructions Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to move intermittently throughout the workday Ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment Ability to work various schedules and shifts as needed Ability to lift, push, pull, move, and/or carry at least 25 pounds to a minimum height of 5 feet and be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet
Safety and Sanitation:
Monitor assigned personnel to ensure compliance with established safety regulations Ensure adequate supply of personal protective equipment Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary environment Follow established handwashing and hand hygiene technique Wear and/or use safety equipment and supplies when lifting or moving residents
Specific Requirements:
Must be a supportive team member and contribute to teamwork and the team concept Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public Must be willing to perform tasks that may involve exposure to blood and/or body fluids Must be willing to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
