Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Assistant Resident Care Coordinator to join our dynamic team in providing exceptional care and support to residents in assisted living, memory care, and long-term care environments. This vital role involves assisting with daily operations, supervising staff, and ensuring that residents receive personalized, compassionate care tailored to their individual needs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior care, nursing home experience, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or dementia. Responsibilities Job purpose The Assistant Resident Care Director supervises resident care and activities of daily living; oversees the day-to-day operation of the department during the absence of the Resident Care Director. Duties and responsibilities Interacts with residents and staff in a professional and friendly manner at all times and possesses compassion for residents. Interacts with care staff, co-workers and supervisors in a professional, respectful and caring manner at all times. Follows nursing service policies and procedures. Directs daily assignments of caregiver staff. Assists in administering resident rights program. Assists in evaluating and assessing resident care and developing a care plan for each resident. Administers and documents medication management for residents. Notifies resident's physician and family of change in resident's condition. Documents family and resident concerns with healthcare management. Assists in bathing, dressing and toiletry needs of residents. Performs duties of caregiver or med-tech as needed to fill a shift position. Makes recommendations for hiring staff; trains staff as needed. Prepares staffing schedule. Assists with directing, supervising and evaluating staff performance, including recommendations for disciplinary actions. Demonstrates high standards of ethics and personal accountability. Ensures staff scheduling is appropriate to census and acuity of residents and in accordance with state regulations; covers shifts if necessary. Promotes and maintains positive relationships with co-workers, residents, family members, guests, and service providers. On-call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week as needed or is on-call on a rotation basis established by the community, normally rotating with Resident Care Director. Follows all OSHA, Fire, Health Department and safety requirements. Other duties as assigned. Position requires sitting, standing and walking, sometimes for extended periods. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Minimum three years' experience as STNA or Lead Caregiver. Knowledge of state assisted living or personal care home regulations as applicable. Experience with aging-related diseases and disorders. Experience working with senior citizens. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to provide leadership and train and develop staff. Excellent customer service skills. Ability to display compassion toward residents as appropriate. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Competent in organization and time management. Must be computer literate. Ability to work well under stress, complete assignments accurately, and work independently. Effectively communicate in English with residents and other employees. Demonstrate desire to be a team player. Other duties as assigned. Regular attendance is required. Working conditions May require working with challenging residents. Requires interaction with co-workers, residents, families, physicians and other service providers. On-call 24 hours per day, 7 days per week if needed, or on rotation established by the community. This is a working position, as well as an administrative position and requires working as a caregiver or med-tech as needed to fill a shift position. Possible exposure to communicable diseases and infections. Physical requirements Walk; sit; stand, sometimes for extended periods of time. Reach with hands and arms. Stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Talk and hear. Ability to push, pull or lift: Up to 50 pounds.
