In-Home Private Caregiver

Private Home Caregiver Thomas-Guy Design's principal designer requires assistance with activities of daily living (ADL) due to her disabilities. We are seeking a capable caregiver to commit to a set part-time schedule during the workweek, and possibly also to fill in for occasional evening and/or weekend shifts. Position Description Must be able to carry out physical transfers Assist with daily hygiene and toileting, as well as light physical therapy Carry out laundry and light housekeeping tasks Prepare family meals as needed Capable of carrying out simple transfers without mechanical lift devices (essential) Follow directions and maintain a good sense of humor Job Requirements Prior experience as a caregiver, with emphasis on safe handling of patients Must be able to carry out physical transfers without assistance or special equipment Dependability and commitment to adhere to a set schedule, possibly in coordination with a team of other independent caregivers Familiarity with physical therapy techniques is a plus Strong in both character and personal fitness Ability to prepare healthy meals (love of cooking is a plus) Willing and able to undergo a background check Must possess valid driving license (patient transport is done in a special mobility van) Work Schedule This position is intended to work 1-2 days per week for a 7-hour shift, or multiple half-days, preferably from 10am-5pm. Evening, weekend, and holiday work is occasionally required, and there may be occasions when caregivers are asked to help fill in for other caregiver absences.
