Overview Considering medical school or a career in nursing? Join us for the summer to be a part time, live in caregiver for an ALS patient in State College. This part-time, paid internship offers a fantastic opportunity for aspiring healthcare professionals to gain hands-on experience working with medically complex patient in the home setting. You'll be part of a supportive team dedicated to proving high quality care for a terminally ill patient. Duties Help nurses/caregivers move an ALS patient from the bed to the chair and back (usually 2 times/day) Support body care (bathing/ toileting) for an ALS patient who is bed-bound Do shopping / pick up prescriptions as necessary (via paid Uber or Lyft or mileage reimbursement if you have your own car) Light housekeeping (vacuuming, laundry, keeping the kitchen neat and tidy) Be an extra pair of hands to support patient movement Other tasks as assigned
