Dementia healthcare support aid Stroudsburg, PA 18360 Up to $14 an hour - Full-time Up to $14 an hour -
Full-time Job Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate and dependable caregiver with knowledge and experience in supporting individuals living with dementia. The ideal candidate understands the unique challenges associated with memory loss, including confusion, changes in behavior, and the need for consistent routines and reassurance. This role requires maintaining a safe environment, monitoring for potential risks, and providing patient, person-centered care that promotes dignity and well-being. A kind heart, calm demeanor, and ability to offer support through both good and challenging days are essential. Monday -Friday 8:00am-6:00PM or 9:00am-7:00pm Responsibilities Assist with Activities of Daily Living (, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring dignity and respect at all times Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration to support ongoing health assessments Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and document all medication administration. Prepare simple healthy meals Light daily housekeeping. ( sweeping, dishes, laundry etc.) Maintain a clean, safe Collaborate with nursing staff, social workers, and family members to develop individualized care plans focused on behavioral management and overall well-being Drive to local various outings such as library, nail salon, local mall, church, restaurants per request of the family. Qualifications Prior experience in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, or home & community care environments is highly preferred Knowledge of dementia care principles, Alzheimer's support strategies, and memory care best practices Certification in first aid is required; additional certifications such as CPR or medication administration training are advantageous Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities in general is a plus Ability to accurately monitor vital signs and recognize signs of health deterioration or behavioral changes Strong caregiving skills with a focus on compassion, patience, and respectful communication Valid driver's license for driving residents when necessary; clean driving record preferred Physical ability to assist with mobility tasks using lifts or other assistive devices • Will hold virtual interviews please email résumé.
