Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Support Service Provider (SSP) / Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support a bright and independent individual on the autism spectrum with an OCD diagnosis in a home setting. In this vital role, you will provide personalized, person-centered care, assist with daily living activities, and help maintain a structured, positive environment that promotes growth, safety, and overall well-being. Your dedication will empower the individual to achieve personal goals while ensuring respectful, consistent support both in the home and within the community. Duties Provide direct support to an individual with disabilities by assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), including personal care, dressing, grooming, and light housekeeping.

Implement individualized behavior management strategies to promote positive behaviors and reduce challenging behaviors.

Support the development of communication, social, intellectual, and emotional skills, encouraging self-expression and independence.

Transport and accompany the individual to community outings, including the gym, church, medical appointments, and recreational activities, to promote social engagement.

Collect and document data related to client progress, behaviors, medication administration, and service delivery in compliance with established policies and procedures.

Administer medications as prescribed, following proper protocols, and maintain accurate documentation of all medication-related activities.

Follow the Behavior Specialist's Treatment Plan and all outlined protocols; collaborate with the individual's family and coordinate with other SSPs/DSPs to support progress toward established goals. Skills Demonstrated experience supporting individuals on the autism spectrum in home and community-based settings.

Strong understanding of special education principles and effective behavior management strategies.

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact respectfully and effectively with individuals of diverse abilities and backgrounds.

Ability to safely operate a vehicle for transportation purposes; a valid driver's license, current car insurance, inspection stickers, and registration are required for application processing. Familiarity with behavioral health concepts and best practices in caregiving for individuals with complex needs. Experience assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs), including toileting, shaving, and personal hygiene.

Knowledge of data collection methods to accurately track client progress and service outcomes.

Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team. A compassionate, patient, and flexible approach, with a strong commitment to supporting individuals in achieving greater independence. Background screening will be conducted on all qualified applicants.
Job Type:
Full-time Double shift on weekends available immediately (Saturday 8 am to 12 am, Sunday 8 am to 12 am) , for consideration, also weekend overnight (Saturday 12am to 8am and Sunday 12 am to 8 am).
Pay:
From $25.00 per hour Expected hours: Up to 40 per week
