Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Paraprofessional to join our dynamic educational team. In this vital role, you will work closely with teachers, students, and families to support classroom activities, foster inclusive learning environments, and promote student success. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help create a positive atmosphere where children with diverse needs can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Responsibilities Assist teachers in implementing lesson plans across various subjects including literacy, math, and social skills. Support students with disabilities by adapting instructional materials and providing personalized assistance. Engage with children in classroom activities, promoting positive behavior management and social interaction. Use communication skills such as American Sign Language or other methods to facilitate effective interaction with students with hearing impairments or communication challenges. Help develop and execute curriculum activities tailored to early childhood education, including Montessori or preschool programs. Monitor student progress and behavior, documenting observations for use in Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Maintain a safe, organized classroom environment conducive to learning and development. Requirements Prior experience working with children in classroom settings or childcare environments. Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education practices. Familiarity with special education strategies, including IEP implementation and behavior management techniques. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder is highly desirable. Proficiency in teaching methods for literacy education, math, and curriculum development. Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and students. Ability to manage classroom dynamics using positive reinforcement and classroom management techniques. Certification or training in Deaf education or American Sign Language is a plus. $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
