Job Description

Job Overview Job Summary We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to provide high-quality care and assistance to individuals with developmental disabilities, seniors, and those requiring specialized support. This vital role involves fostering independence, ensuring safety, and enhancing the quality of life for residents in various care settings. The ideal candidate will be empathetic, patient, and committed to delivering personalized care tailored to each individual's needs. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor and observe patients for changes in behavior or health status, maintaining detailed documentation Administer medications and manage care plans in accordance with healthcare protocols and HIPAA regulations Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet dietary requirements Operate patient lifts such as Hoyer lifts safely to transfer residents with mobility challenges Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being Maintain a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping and sanitation tasks Support residents during activities, outings, or community engagement initiatives Follow safety procedures including CPR and First Aid protocols; respond appropriately to emergencies Requirements Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care preferred Knowledge of patient care practices including medication administration, vital signs monitoring, dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, autism support, hospice care, and long-term care experience Certifications such as CPR and First Aid are highly desirable Ability to work with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges in a respectful and supportive manner Strong communication skills and patience when working with residents who have complex needs or behavioral challenges Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and assist with mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information Experience in social work or home health services is a plus Compassionate attitude dedicated to improving the quality of life for residents in a caring environment
Pay:
$15.00 - $16.00 per hour
