Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professionals to join our team in providing exceptional care and support to individuals with diverse needs. In this vital role, you will work closely with residents to promote independence, ensure safety, and enhance their quality of life. Your energy and positive attitude will help create a nurturing environment where individuals feel valued, respected, and empowered. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to promote independence and dignity. Monitor residents' health by taking vital signs, observing changes in condition, and reporting findings accurately while adhering to HIPAA privacy standards. Support medication administration following care plans and ensure proper documentation of patient care activities. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs, assist with feeding when necessary, and maintain a clean and safe dining environment. Provide companionship and emotional support, fostering social interactions and engaging residents in recreational activities. Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance. Follow all safety protocols including CPR and first aid procedures during emergencies or accidents. Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly preferred. Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's care), memory care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism. Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional certifications like HIPAA compliance are a plus. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts. Strong communication skills for collaborating with team members, residents, families, and healthcare professionals. $20.00 - $21.00 per hour
