Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Staff to provide high-quality support and assistance to individuals with diverse needs in a residential or community setting. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in promoting independence, safety, and well-being for residents, including those with developmental disabilities, dementia, or other health challenges. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives through personalized care and support. Duties Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor residents' health status by taking vital signs and observing patient conditions Administer medications following prescribed care plans and HIPAA regulations Support residents during meal preparation, feeding, and nutrition management Provide companionship and emotional support to promote social engagement and mental well-being Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely to assist with transfers and mobility Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation practices Document care activities accurately in compliance with healthcare standards and regulations Follow individualized care plans developed by healthcare professionals or social workers Assist with specialized care needs such as Alzheimer's, dementia, autism, or hospice care Qualifications Prior experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care preferred Certifications such as First Aid, CPR, or Medication Administration are highly desirable Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards Experience working with people with disabilities or developmental challenges is a plus Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required (e.g., resident transfers) Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and safety assurance Compassionate attitude with excellent communication skills and patience Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a caregiving environment Flexibility to work various shifts including days, evenings, or weekends as needed This role is essential for supporting the health and independence of residents while fostering a caring environment.
