Job Description
Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Support Professional (DSP) to join our Consumer Direct team in Tennessee. In this vital role, you will provide personalized care and support to individuals with diverse needs, empowering them to live fulfilling, independent lives. Your energetic approach and attentive nature will help foster a safe, respectful, and engaging environment for those you serve. Responsibilities Assist individuals with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor and observe patients' health status, including vital signs and overall well-being, ensuring safety at all times Administer medications following care plans and HIPAA regulations to maintain compliance and confidentiality Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption as needed Support individuals with cognitive impairments such as dementia or Alzheimer's by implementing memory care strategies and providing companionship Operate equipment such as Hoyer lifts safely during transfers, ensuring resident safety and comfort Maintain detailed documentation of care activities, patient observations, and progress in accordance with agency policies Requirements Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred Knowledge of patient care procedures including CPR, first aid, medication administration, and vital signs monitoring Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, or dementia is desirable Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks required for resident transfers and mobility assistance Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, residents, and families Commitment to maintaining HIPAA compliance and respecting residents' privacy at all times Valid certifications such as CPR and first aid are required; additional training in hospice or memory care is a plus Join us in delivering compassionate support that enhances the quality of life for those we serve!
