Job Description

Job Summary As a direct care staff in our HCS program, you will provide active support for people with IDD, or Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities. There are opportunities for work within our Group Homes (RSS), and our Day Center (ISS). Duties Assist residents with activities of daily living that maintains their health. This includes bathing, eating, and other tasks to ensure client safety and needs are met. Administer medications following proper protocols while maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality, and other tasks as delegated by the RN. Prepare nutritious meals, hydration, and snacks in accordance with dietary plans, ensuring cleanliness and safety in the kitchen area. Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing regular cleaning duties and adhering to infection control standards Support residents' emotional well-being through engaging activities, companionship, and encouraging social interaction within group home or community settings Follow care plans meticulously, documenting observations, progress notes, and incident reports to ensure continuity of care through daily service delivery logs and other designated documentation. Qualifications Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, home health environments, and or people with IDD in general is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs accurately Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; Will Train on CPR & First Aid. Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, Alzheimer's disease, or memory care needs is advantageous Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate patient transfer equipment like Hoyer lifts (Up to 100 pounds with some assistance depending on the situation.)
