As a Live-In Caregiver, you will be an essential part of a team focused on delivering comprehensive care that promotes independence and well-being. Responsibilities Provide attentive supervision and patient observation to monitor health status and respond promptly to changing needs. Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary. Administer medications accurately following medical documentation and medication schedules while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Monitor vital signs regularly and report any irregularities or concerns to healthcare professionals. Support clients with dementia, Alzheimer's, memory care, and other cognitive impairments through specialized techniques tailored to individual needs. Manage medical records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems and document care activities thoroughly. Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions and assist with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation to maintain a safe environment. Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, hospice support, and working with individuals with disabilities or developmental challenges. Use medical terminology confidently when communicating with healthcare providers or documenting patient care activities. Employ proper infection control practices during home & community care activities to ensure safety for both client and caregiver. Skills Strong patient observation skills combined with experience in assisted living or long-term care environments. Proficiency in EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR systems for accurate documentation of care activities. Knowledge of ADLs assistance techniques including mobility support with Hoyer lifts and medication administration protocols. Experience working with individuals with dementia, Alzheimer's disease, developmental disabilities, or in hospice care settings. Ability to monitor vital signs effectively and recognize signs of medical emergencies requiring immediate attention. Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to senior care, home health services, and disability support. CPR certification along with training in catheter care, hospice support, and dementia-specific memory care strategies. Competence in home & community care tasks such as meal prep, cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living environment. Understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure confidentiality of patient information at all times. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with healthcare teams and providing compassionate patient-centered care.
