- Direct Care Staff Opportunities (GRO) Southall Heritage Youth Home (SHYH)
- This is not childcare or Elderly Care You MUS T have experience in a RTC/GRO in the state of Texas .
We're currently hiring compassionate and dependable individuals to join our team as Direct Care Staff . Openings are available for Day (1) and Evening shifts (2), Nights (1), full-time. This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of boys ages 7 to 17 who have experienced trauma, abuse, or neglect. This is not daycare, childcare, Elderly Care, technician work. This is a direct care, residential treatment group home for boys.
Who We're Looking For:
We are seeking individuals with a strong desire to support youth facing emotional and behavioral challenges. Must have prior experience in residential or treatment care settings. You must be able to transport boys to doctors, events, school, outings Etc. You must be willing to learn how to give medicine You must be dedicated, punctual and highly observant.

- 8 am FT is 35-40 hours per week, the week runs from M-S with rotating weekends. Each shift is staffed with a minimum of 3 employees (even at night) Night Staff must remain awake throughout the shift, conduct 15-minute bed checks , and complete nightly task for the following day. Sleeping on shift is immediate termination. PRN (As Needed)
- Must commit to a minimum of 4 shifts per month to maintain active PRN status.

What We Provide:
SHYH is a 24/7 residential home, offering trust-based, trauma-informed care in a safe and nurturing environment. Our goal is to support healing, teach life skills, and help our youth grow into their full potential by forming meaningful, supportive relationships.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Ensuring the safety and well-being of residents at all times Supporting day-to-day routines including meals, school, hygiene, and recreation Being a consistent, positive role model and mentor Encouraging youth to build confidence, express themselves, and make healthy choices Help maintain a structured environment by enforcing rules and expectations Assisting with cooking, laundry, and household chores alongside the youth Administering medication and basic first aid when needed Transporting youth to appointments or activities as needed Keeping detailed records of incidents, medications, and daily progress Supporting youth with personal care, hygiene, and grooming Participating in staff training and ongoing professional development
Training Provided In:
Emergency Behavior Intervention (CPI) Trauma-Informed Care Practices CPR and First Aid Best practices for working with at-risk youth
Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years of age Pass criminal background, central registry checks, and drug test Have a drivers license and can transport children.
