Caregiver - Companion Care

Duties Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Provide companionship by engaging in conversations, hobbies, and recreational activities to promote mental well-being Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, noting changes in condition, and reporting concerns promptly Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding when necessary Support medication reminders and help with medication administration following care plans and HIPAA regulations Maintain a clean and safe environment through light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing living spaces Utilize equipment like Hoyer lifts or resident lifts safely to assist with mobility and transfers for individuals with disabilities or mobility challenges Requirements Prior experience in home health, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred Knowledge of patient observation techniques, dementia care (including Alzheimer's and memory care), and hospice care practices Certification in CPR and First Aid is required; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks as needed Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, or other special needs populations Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare teams Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are often necessary for community-based caregiving roles This role is perfect for compassionate individuals eager to provide direct support while developing their expertise in senior care, patient monitoring, and social work.
