Job Description

Job Title:
Day Program Staff Position Summary:
The Day Program Staff provides direct support to individuals with developmental and/or physical disabilities in a structured day program setting. This role focuses on promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life by assisting participants with personal care, daily living skills, and community integration while supporting their individual goals.
Key Responsibilities:
Support individuals in identifying, pursuing, and achieving personal life goals, including social, recreational, and skill-building activities Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including dressing, grooming, hygiene, and toileting needs (including brief changes) Provide safe and respectful feeding assistance, including support for individuals with specialized dietary or feeding needs Assist with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition and hydration throughout the day Support individuals with mobility needs, including ambulating, transfers, and use of adaptive equipment as required Facilitate community access by accompanying individuals on outings, appointments, and recreational activities Promote engagement in meaningful activities that enhance independence, social interaction, and personal development Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment for all participants Follow individualized care plans and document services, progress, and any changes in condition or behavior Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and families as appropriate
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required; relevant experience in human services preferred Ability to work with individuals with diverse physical, emotional, and developmental needs Strong interpersonal and communication skills Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, assisting with mobility, and personal care support CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Valid driver's license may be required depending on program needs
Work Environment:
Combination of indoor program setting and community-based environments Requires physical activity including standing, walking, lifting, and assisting individuals with mobility and personal care
