Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Residential Specialists to provide high-quality care and support to adults with special needs in a residential setting. This role involves assisting residents with daily activities, ensuring their safety, and promoting independence within a caring environment. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, long-term care, or home & community care, and possess a genuine desire to improve the quality of life for individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia, or other health challenges. This position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference while working in a supportive team environment. Responsibilities Assist resident with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance Administer medications following prescribed protocols and document accurately using EMR systems Monitor vital signs and observe for any changes in health status, reporting concerns promptly Provide personal care and support tailored to individual needs, including Alzheimer's and dementia care Support resident with meal preparation and feeding as needed, ensuring nutritional requirements are met Utilize specialized equipment Implement behavior management strategies to promote positive interactions and reduce agitation Maintain a clean and safe living environment by assisting with light housekeeping tasks Engage resident in social activities and community outings to foster socialization and independence Document care activities thoroughly and communicate effectively with team members about resident progress Qualifications Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care preferred Certification in First Aid and CPR required or willingness to obtain upon hire Experience with medication administration and vital signs monitoring preferred Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a caregiving environment Strong communication skills and compassionate nature are essential for working with individuals with disabilities or health challenges Valid driver's license preferred for community outings or transportation needs Experience working with EMR systems is advantageous Physical ability to assist with transfers and perform caregiving duties involving mobility support This role is vital in providing respectful, person-centered care that enhances the well-being of residents.
