Hello! I am looking for a part-time PCA or CNA personal caregiver (possibly live in) who is part of a small caregiving team in my private home. The position is approximately 12-20 hours per week. I am looking for coverage on Saturday, Sunday, and with the possibility of adding one or two additional weekdays depending on the schedule of the team. I can be flexible on that additional day (s). Typical shifts would be approximately 5 hours per day, generally from 12:00pm-5:00pm. You would be joining a team of other PCAs who care for me. It's a wonderful team of skilled, caring people with interesting life experience, and my family is also involved in my care. This team shares notes, coordinates my daily care, and covers for each other on occasion as needed. The role requires flexibility, reliability, honesty, care, good communication, and a collaborative spirit. There is a need for this position to adapt to my changing needs and a potential for it to grow in size and take on more responsibilities over time. Most importantly, this is not just a job, it is a long-term role in my daily life. I am looking for someone compassionate, calm, and dependable, organized and proactive. Someone comfortable working independently and as part of a team. Someone experienced in healthcare, caregiving, disability support, or personal care. A strong communicator who is comfortable with texting, notes, and apps. I am especially interested in building a long-term working relationship. The ideal candidate is dedicated to supporting my well-being, is caring, and responsible. Careful planning, multitasking, organization, and attention to detail are required. Communication is primarily through texting and written notes, and you would need to be responsive and proactive about checking in on details, asking questions when necessary, and being sensitive to the fact that some days I may be in increased pain or have even more limited energy. This position comes with the possibility of an optional on-site live-in arrangement, which is preferred but not required, and we encourage applicants either way. The live-in option includes access to a brand-new private 375-square-foot studio apartment located in my home's basement, featuring a separate entrance, living/sleeping area, full kitchen, private bathroom, and in-unit laundry. Rent and utilities would be fully covered as part of your compensation package (valued at approximately $1,400/month). You would maintain set work hours, real time off, and your own separate life and privacy — simply while living on-site. In exchange for the housing arrangement, you would be asked to be reasonably reachable for occasional urgent situations outside scheduled hours, such as if another PCA calls out unexpectedly or I become suddenly unwell and need assistance. This is still an hourly position, and you would be paid for all time worked. The live-in arrangement primarily provides added peace of mind and security knowing someone trusted is nearby if an urgent need arises. Outside of working hours or urgent situations, you would be completely free to enjoy your own time, routines, and interests, just as with any other job. The specific details of the live-in arrangement and expectations would be discussed further during the interview process as we get to know each other better.
