Our Adult Family Home in the peaceful, wooded Johnson Point area specializes in providing a safe, serene haven for elderly residents, including those living with dementia and memory loss. Whether you are an experienced memory care professional or a compassionate person willing to learn the nuances of dementia support, we have a place for you. We provide the calm environment and the training you need to provide exceptional, person-centered care. Open Shifts & Compensation (Full-time, Part-time, and Flexible)
Overnight:
9:00 PM•9:00 AM (Crucial for monitoring "sundowning" and ensuring nighttime safety)
Mondays:
Full day
Weekends:
Saturday & Sunday Pay Range:
$19.00•$24.00 per hour (depending on experience and certifications)
Expected Hours:
12•35 hours per week Who We Are Looking For The Experienced Specialist You have an active CNA or HCA license and have worked with residents facing cognitive decline. You understand that a "behavior" is often an unmet need, and you know how to redirect with kindness.
Note:
Please bring proof of WA State certification and any Dementia Specialty training. The Heart-Centered Newcomer You are naturally patient, a good listener, and want to learn how to care for the elderly. We will help you get certified. We provide the mentorship and resources to help you earn your WA State Home Care Aide (HCA), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license while you gain hands-on experience in dementia care.
Key Responsibilities Dignified Memory Care:
Providing gentle assistance with bathing, dressing, and grooming, while maintaining a predictable and calming routine to reduce anxiety.
Safety & Supervision:
Especially during the 9pm-9am shift, ensuring residents stay safe, comfortable, and oriented.
Engagement:
Facilitating simple, meaningful activities that spark joy and connection for residents at various stages of memory loss.
Nutritional Support:
Preparing meals and providing "stand-by" assistance or cueing during dining to ensure healthy intake.
Household Harmony:
Maintaining a clean, quiet, and clutter-free environment—essential for the well-being of those with dementia.
Qualifications & Requirements Compassion First:
A calm demeanor and a high level of patience are non-negotiable.
Communication:
Fluent English (written and verbal) to effectively document resident status and communicate with families.
Compliance:
Must pass a background check and TB screening.
Essentials:
High School Diploma/GED, valid driver's license, and reliable transportation.
Training:
Willingness to complete Washington State Dementia Specialty Training (we can assist with this). Why Join Our Team?
