Job Description

Essential Job Functions:
1. Provide training and orientation to new staff in the performance of Caregiver job duties and daily routines of the program as assigned. Familiarize new staff as assigned with the idiosyncrasies, quirks, patterns, likes, and dislikes of specific residents. 2. Complete assigned paperwork related to the training being provided. Forward completed paperwork to Resident Services Manager in a timely fashion. Ensure documentation related to training is completed and provides feedback to assigned trainees regarding the quality of their work performance. 3. Provide feedback to Resident Services Manager regarding performance and progress of assigned trainees. 4. Participate in any required training to develop/enhance mentoring skills. Develop standard procedures of all Caregiver duties. Maintain compliance with documentation system. 5. Follow up on completion and documentation of services that are scheduled including discussion with care providers regarding inconsistencies, change in condition, repeated refusals, missing documentation, quality issues, safety issues, and performance issues. 6. Collaborate with nurse manager to maintain updated Individual Service Plan (ISP) as changes occur. 7. Collaborates with Resident Services Manager to revise scheduling patterns or assignments based on program needs and budgeting considerations. Assist with staffing needs by transitioning to care floor staff to cover open shifts. 8. Assist in Fire/Tornado evacuation drills, alarm doors and wander guard checks. 9. Assist nurse/nurse manager with pharmacy deliveries, refills, and monthly initial checks. 10. Set a positive example at all times for trainees with regards to customer service, teamwork, and quality care. Maintains open communication in order to address operations issues and promote teamwork. Hours are 2pm-10:30pm. Every other weekend is required as well as rotating holidays.
