Timberwood Lodge is currently seeking individuals with the proper certifications to work as a caregiver in a CBRF setting. Come grow with us!
JOB OVERVIEW
The Medication Aide / Caregiver is responsible for providing personalized care and service to Assisted Living residents, perform light housekeeping / laundry, and chart all activities performed.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: Resident Care Provide quality care and assistance to residents in accordance with the residence philosophy and policies, and resident rights. Assist residents in meeting their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. Adhere to each resident's individual service plan and notify the Nursing Services Coordinator / Administrator of any change in the resident's condition. Answer and respond immediately to any resident call light. Check residents every two hours and document and report findings. Assist residents with their activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living. Give and take shift report in timely manner. Assist with resident activities, encourage and assist residents to participate with activities. Encourage residents to attend meals in the dining room and assist residents with escorting residents to the dining room. Assist with cleaning the dining room following a meal and as needed. Provide housekeeping services to each resident's room / apartment. Establish and maintain a good relationship with residents and their families. Dispose of all incontinent products according to OSHA regulations and residence policy. Practice proper body mechanics when lifting objects and follow safety guidelines according to residence policies and procedures. Offer choice, maintain dignity, and promote individuality for all residents. Protect and maintain resident rights. Encourage and support resident independence. Understand DHS regulations as it pertains to the residents. Carry out all duties assigned to you by your supervisor. Administer medications effectively and efficiently to residents based on their doctor's orders. Provide safekeeping of narcotics. Assist with dietary needs as necessary. Documentation/communication Chart regularly on completed duties on the electronic MAR/TAR system. Be fluent in the English language. Be familiar / be able to learn how to use computer software programs Frequently utilize computer software programs Attend all regular staff meetings and required training sessions. Effectively communicate information pertaining to the residents on a "need to know" basis to other team members according to the residence policies and procedures. Notify supervisor if you observe a change in a resident's condition. Respond to on-the-job injuries in accordance with the community's policies and procedures. Notify supervisor of any concerns or questions presented by the resident or the resident's family members. Contact emergency personnel and management per the residence policy and procedures.

$23.00 - $24.00 per hour
