Respite Worker

Job Overview We are seeking a compassionate and energetic Respite Worker to provide essential support and care to individuals with diverse needs, including developmental disabilities, dementia, autism, and other health conditions. Duties Provide attentive patient observation to monitor health status, behavior, and safety during assigned shifts Assist with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment like Hoyer lifts when necessary Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist clients with meal consumption Support clients with cognitive impairments by engaging in meaningful activities that promote memory care and social interaction Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning duties and proper sanitation practices Document care activities accurately in accordance with facility policies and state regulations Experience Previous experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments preferred Experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer's disease, dementia, autism spectrum disorder or hospice needs highly desirable Familiarity with care plans, and HIPAA compliance necessary for effective caregiving Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting residents with mobility or transfers using equipment like Hoyer lifts Background in long-term care or home health services is advantageous Strong communication skills for collaborating with social workers, healthcare teams, residents' families, and other stakeholders Join us in providing compassionate respite care that empowers clients to thrive while giving their families peace of mind.
