We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible. We are seeking a compassionate, energetic, and dependable Respite Provider to support a fun-loving 2-year-old boy with Autism and speech delay. This position provides short-term care and supervision while offering engaging, age-appropriate activities that promote safety, enjoyment, and community involvement. The ideal candidate enjoys active play, has patience and a positive attitude, and can keep up with a busy toddler who loves exploring and staying on the move.
Pay :
$14.13 per hour About the Child
- 2-year-old boy with Autism and speech delay
- Very active and energetic
- Enjoys push toys, trucks, swinging, climbing, jumping, and other movement-based activities
- Loves movies, outdoor play, and water activities
- Uses limited sign language, primarily to communicate when he is hungry
- May have occasional temper tantrums but typically calms down quickly with support and redirection
- Guardian is interested in helping him participate in community activities and outings Responsibilities
- Provide attentive supervision and ensure the child's safety at all times
- Engage in active play and age-appropriate activities both indoors and outdoors
- Encourage participation in community-based activities and outings when appropriate
- Use positive reinforcement, patience, and redirection to support behavior and engagement
- Assist with basic needs, snacks, and routine care during scheduled hours
- Support communication efforts through simple language, gestures, and sign language as needed
- Maintain a positive, nurturing, and encouraging environment
- Communicate regularly with the guardian regarding activities, behaviors, and any concerns Qualifications
- Experience working with young children preferred
- Experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder or developmental disabilities is a plus, but not required
- Patient, dependable, and energetic
- Comfortable engaging in active play, outdoor activities, and community outings
- Ability to remain calm during occasional tantrums and use positive behavior support strategies
- Reliable transportation required
