Job Description
Job Summary Join our dedicated team as a Caregiver in an Adult Family Home (AFH), where your compassionate support and attentive care make a meaningful difference in residents' lives. In this vital role, you will provide personalized assistance to seniors and individuals with disabilities, fostering a safe, comfortable, and engaging environment. Your energy and dedication will help residents maintain their independence and dignity while receiving the highest quality of care. This position offers an opportunity to work closely with a supportive team committed to enhancing the well-being of each individual we serve. Responsibilities Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support Monitor and record vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse, and temperature to ensure residents' health stability Administer medications accurately following prescribed schedules and protocols Support residents with Alzheimer's disease, dementia, and memory care needs through specialized techniques and compassionate engagement Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements and assist with feeding when necessary Maintain a clean, safe, and organized living environment by performing light housekeeping duties and adhering to infection control standards Use Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems to document care activities, resident progress, and incident reports Operate assistive devices such as Hoyer lifts safely to prevent injury during transfers Engage residents in social activities and provide emotional support to foster a positive atmosphere Support residents' behavioral management needs through patience, understanding, and appropriate intervention strategies Drive residents when necessary for appointments or community outings in compliance with safety regulations Experience Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly desirable Demonstrated knowledge of caring for individuals with developmental disabilities or Alzheimer's/dementia care experience preferred Hands-on experience assisting with ADLs and providing personal care within a group home or long-term care setting is advantageous Familiarity with vital signs monitoring, medication administration, and basic first aid certification is essential Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in senior care roles enhances your ability to deliver empathetic support Ability to operate EMR systems efficiently for documentation purposes Valid driver's license and safe driving record are preferred for transportation responsibilities Join us in creating a nurturing environment where every resident feels valued and cared for.
