JOB SUMMARY
The Case Manager Supervisor provides direct support to individuals and families referred to Alaksa Volunteers in Disaster (AKVOAD) Halong Typhoon Long‑Term Recovery Group and ensures smooth administrative operations for the LTRG's ongoing work. This role blends compassionate case management with strong organizational and administrative skills. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, people‑centered, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑moving recovery environment. This work will primarily take place in the Southcentral area but some support will be provided to survivors located in Bethel and Western Alaska. Supervise and support a team of disaster case workers and staff, primarily serving the Southcentral area but also providing some support to survivors in remote Western Alaska. In collaboration with the Community Development Manager organize and facilitate regular team meetings and check-ins. Receive, track, and respond to regular referrals from partner agencies, community organizations, and individuals. Oversee and manage case intake, including interviews and assessments to determine needs, eligibility, and appropriate next steps. Maintain accurate, confidential case files and documentation in accordance with LTRG policies. Coordinate services, resources, and follow‑up with clients throughout their recovery process. Communicate with partner agencies to ensure continuity of care and avoid duplication of services. Prepare regular reports for LTRG leadership and any necessary hand-offs to the Case Management Committee. Support clients with goal-setting, resource navigation, and advocacy as needed. Provide administrative support to the Halong Long‑Term Recovery Group, including scheduling, meeting preparation, and note‑taking. Maintain organized digital and physical records, including agendas, minutes, reports, and correspondence. Assist with data entry, reporting, and documentation required for grants, compliance, and program evaluation. Support communication efforts, including email updates, announcements, and coordination with partner organizations. Track referrals, service metrics, and committee activities to support ongoing program improvement. Assist with logistics for trainings, community meetings, and LTRG events. Performs other duties as assigned.

LTRG. WORK ENVIRONMENT / JOB CONDITIONS
Agency is a mandated tobacco, drug and alcohol-free workplace. Develop and maintains constructive and cooperative working relationships with others. Use computers and computer programs effectively to enter data, create spreadsheets and process information, and develop documents, program and training materials. Must have the ability to operate the following equipment: desktop computer, telephone, copier, PC printer, and fax machine. Regular travel to rural Alaska and ability to carry out job responsibilities in rural areas without, or with limited, running water and sewer systems. Ability to sleep on floor in communities where no other lodging is available.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly grasp, type, see, talk, hear, lift and carry 40 pounds of weight by utilizing proper lifting techniques and working in a safe manner. This position will also be performing physical activities such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, and handling materials. Occasionally performs sedentary activities that require sitting for long periods and repetitive use of hands, wrists and arms for handling, positioning, moving materials, and manipulating things. Must be in good general health and free from serious physical, mental health and/or substance abuse issues.
POSITION TYPE / EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a Full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or hours may vary with location. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
TRAVEL:
Travel is primarily local during the business day, with travel to rural communities, out-of-area and overnight travel is required. This may include transportation by small aircraft and alternative ground transportation.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS AND REQUIRED EDUCATION
Must be at least 18 years of age. State and federal background checks, including fingerprints, may be required.
Required:
High school diploma or GED, at least 2 years of experience in case management, social services, community outreach, or a related field. Knowledge of social, cultural, and economic conditions in rural Alaska; experience working with the Alaska Native population. Technical experience in coordinating projects. Employees are expected to remain alert, attentive, and fully engaged in their responsibilities during all working hours. Sleeping while on duty is strictly prohibited. Excellent written, analytical, organizational and time-management skills Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills including expertise in report writing and communication with a diverse audience. Responsible work ethic with reliable attendance Problem‑solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing needs. Compassion, patience, and a client‑centered mindset. Demonstrated intermediate level of computer skills necessary to use and create documents and reports, spreadsheets, workshop materials and slide presentations, and to enter data into intricate database programs and proficient use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Outlook. Must keep all matters concerning participants in strictest confidence as required by HIPAA privacy and the 42 CFR, Part II confidentiality regulations. Must have a valid driver's License and maintain a valid driver's license throughout the course of employment. Must provide a copy of current driving record from the Department of Motor Vehicles annually. Must have an insured vehicle, present proof of insurance, and maintain proof of insurance throughout the course of employment.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Preferred:
BA in social work, Human Services, Psychology, Public Administration, or a related field. Experience working with multi‑agency collaborations or community coalitions. Familiarity with data tracking systems, case management software, or CRM tools.
