TERO Ordinance 2017-01, P.L. 93-638 Job Summary This is a support position for the Housing Program. The incumbent will assist the Housing Representative in case files management, property management, recordkeeping, along with other duties as assigned by the Housing Representative. Essential Functions Assist with maintaining files on housing clients and properties Data Entry Assist in compiling and preparing program and grant reports Assist with the completion of grant objectives Assist the Safehome Crew in completing environmental impact evaluations for each project Assist in the screening of potential housing clients Develop and maintain client case records through personal interview, phone contacts and collateral contacts to support authorization and/or deny application of person(s) ineligibility for services using confidentiality in accordance with the Tribe's policies and procedures Maintain a good working relationship with other community programs and agencies Attend staff and Tribally Designated Housing Entity meetings as required It is the intent of this job description to highlight the essential functions of the position; however, it is not an all-inclusive list. The incumbent may be called upon and required to follow or perform other duties and tasks requested by his/her supervisor, consistent with the purpose of the position, department and/or the Kenaitze Indian Tribe's objectives. Working Conditions Lifting Requirements Sedentary Work - Exerting up to 30 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally, and all other sedentary criteria are met. Personal vehicle for travel to trainings Travel Local In-State Out-of-State Qualifications Education High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Experience One (1) year of administrative or clerical work experience Experience working with Microsoft Office Suite Preferred Knowledge and experience working with cultural diversities License/Certification Must have a valid Alaska State driver's license and must remain insurable under the Tribe's policy , or obtain within 90 days of hire, or, with approval of the hiring manager, sign a •Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in lieu of having a driver's license to perform the required duties of the position (If Applicable) Special Skills Willingness to travel overnight/out-of-state Ability to lift program materials weighing up to 30lbs Good written and verbal communication skills Excellent customer service skills Ability to handle customer complaints in a professional manner Ability to prioritize multiple projects and deadlines Basic office organizational skills; filing, operating copier/fax, and phone Knowledge and ability to work with Microsoft Office Suite Conducts business in a service-oriented manner that is attentive, pleasant, respectful and kind when dealing with un'ina, visitors, co-workers and others
Memorandum of Understanding:
Serves as documented evidence that the Kenaitze Indian Tribe has expressed the ineligibility of an employee to operate motor vehicles owned, leased or rented by the Kenaitze Indian Tribe, or to operate a personal vehicle on behalf of the Kenaitze Indian Tribe.
