The Subrogation Coordinator manages health insurance subrogation claims from initial notice through final lien resolution on every active case. This role is the single point of accountability for health insurance subrogation and sits within the Liens department, reporting directly to the Director of Liens. Core Responsibilities Identify applicable health insurance coverage on new cases and send timely notices to all carriers Open and manage claims with private health insurance carriers, Medi-Cal, Medicare, VA (Veterans Affairs), and TRICARE Track and manage open subrogation claims in our case management system, maintaining current status on every file Obtain conditional payment letters and lien amounts from health insurance carriers as cases progress Negotiate lien reductions directly with carriers and plan administrators Confirm final lien payoff figures before settlement disbursement and obtain written satisfaction from each creditor Coordinate with internal teams to ensure no case reaches disbursement without a cleared lien status File all subro correspondence per firm document standards Stay current on applicable lien laws, carrier procedures, and health plan recovery rights

Qualifications Required:

2+ years of experience in health insurance subrogation, lien resolution, or a related role Familiarity with private health insurance, Medi-Cal, Medicare, VA, and TRICARE lien and recovery procedures Strong written and verbal communication skills Organized and able to manage a high-volume caseload Experience with case management software

Preferred:

Prior experience at a plaintiff personal injury law firm Knowledge of ERISA self-funded plan lien issues Bilingual English/Spanish What Success Looks Like Every active case has a subro claim opened and a carrier contact logged within 5 business days of case open No conditional payment letter sits unactioned for more than 14 days No case reaches settlement without a confirmed lien payoff figure on file Director of Liens has real-time visibility into every open claim at any time
