LIVING SKILLS INSTRUCTORS
for social services and social work that is part time with the opportunity for full time work in Fair Field, CA and surrounding cities as needed.
PASSPORT TO LEARNING, INC.
is currently seeking dedicated, compassionate, conscientious, self-motivated social services workers to work 1:1 with clients who have intellectual disabilities. Instructors hired for this position will work in the Independent Living Skills (ILS) program. The social services and social work is conducted in the clients' home environments and the community to establish positive routines, develop functional skills, and for the enhancement of the clients' daily living skills. The social services / social work professional will provide support and guidance to clients in a mentor-style relationship for the achievement of individualized service plan goals. Candidates for this position must be able to drive and meet with the clients at their home residence and locations in the community to provide community-based instructions in specific areas. Only candidates residing in or within 15 miles of the specified services areas are considered for this position. Candidates must be able to report to our Fair Field office twice per month to submit progress documentation, attend staff meetings, training, and client QA meetings. On-the-job training is provided.
PASSPORT TO LEARNING, INC.
(PTL) is dedicated to serving a community of individuals with intellectual disabilities who need assistance in adapting to meet age-specific developmental milestones. PTL's Independent Living Skills (ILS) program is an age-appropriate functional skill training for individuals with Autism, MMR, Down Syndrome, and other intellectual disabilities. The focus of the practice is to increase a person's daily living skills at home and in the community, to pursue academic goals, and/or to explore employment options.

    Bachelors' Degree Wage = $30.00 / Master's Degree Wage = $31.00
Compensation:
Starting Salary:
$30.00
  • $31.00/hour based on education and experience (+ mileage reimbursement of $0.72.5 cents/mile) and travel time at the CA minimum wage rate of $16.90 per hour.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, counseling, humanities and sociology, nursing, social work, ABA, behavioral medicine, speech and language, rehabilitation, marriage and family therapy, or a comparable degree in a human services field such as criminal justice. Candidates must have education and experience required in the job description, effective written and verbal communication skills and a professional appearance. We are seeking candidates who enjoy helping and teaching others in the field of social work. Knowledge of intellectual disabilities; understanding of community resources for individuals with disabilities; creativity is required.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Reliable transportation is a must. Valid California Driver's License, Automotive Insurance, and CPR/ 1st Aid are required, and successful clearance of a background screening.
