is seeking individuals with backgrounds who have social services hearts to work with people with intellectual disabilities utilizing case management skills and other abilities as well. Independent Living Skills Instructor duties include but not limited to:
- Case Management

PASSPORT TO LEARNING, INC.
(PTL) is dedicated to serving a community of individuals in the social services field with mental health/intellectual disabilities who need assistance in adapting to meet age-specific developmental milestones. PTL's Independent Living Skills (ILS) program is an age-appropriate functional skill training for individuals with Autism, MMR, Down Syndrome, and other intellectual disabilities. The focus of the practice is to increase a person's daily living skills at home and in the community using case management skills and others in order to pursue academic goals, or to explore employment options. Candidates must be able to drive to meet with clients at their homes and provide social services support and mental health support with attending court-mandated appointments and training in the community weekly. 95% of the work is performed in the field. Case management is an objective for the social services and mental health work. Only candidates residing within 25 miles of one of the specified service areas are considered for this position in the social services and mental health industry. The work is performed in Oakland, San Leandro, Hayward and Union City and the other cities listed. The job also requires attending meetings two times per month at one of three Passport To Learning's regional offices., for submitting progress documentation, attending staff meetings, training, supervision, and client QA meetings. On-the-job training is provided.
Compensation:
($35.00 BA/BS / $36.00 MA/MS for PSS/ILS) per hour, plus mileage reimbursement at .72.5 cent/mile and travel time at California's minimum wage rate of $16.90/hr. - Part-time positions

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
BA/BS degree in Sociology, Psychology, Education or a human services related field.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
Reliable transportation is a must. Valid California Driver's License, Automotive Insurance, and CPR/ 1st Aid are required. A background clearance including a 3-year Motor Vehicle Report. The judicially Involved Support Services program (JISS) provides support and guidance to clients in a mentor-style relationship to foster self-esteem and to assist clients in becoming productive and confident members of society. Supported Living Services (SLS) give support and functional skills training in various areas of daily living, such as Menu Planning, Meal Preparation, Money Management, Home Maintenance, Community Safety, and Resources, Access to Health Care.
