Job Description

Title:
Case Manager/ Employment Specialist Programs:
Case Management Hours:
40 hours per week (flexible to meet program and client needs)

Senior Manager of Programs Job Summary:
The Case Manager / Employment Specialist is responsible for supporting participants enrolled in MVK's Career Track program by helping them prepare for and secure employment. This role assesses each participant's strengths, interests, and vocational needs, and assists in creating individualized employment plans. The Employment Specialist provides coaching in resume building, job readiness, and interview preparation, while also connecting participants to appropriate resources and services. In addition, this position delivers short-term case management support, documents all interactions accurately, and ensures participants progress toward meaningful employment outcomes in alignment with their goals and circumstances.
Essential Functions:
Compile and assess information about participants' skills, abilities, interests, employment history, education, and personal background. Work with participants to help them understand and overcome personal, social, or behavioral barriers that may impact employment; this includes guidance on personal hygiene when necessary. Support participants in developing and updating resumes tailored to the current job market. Provide mock interviews and coaching to help participants improve interviewing skills, including constructive feedback. Attend all required staff meetings and trainings. Provide short-term case management, including crisis intervention and scheduled participant meetings. Advocate for timely and cost-effective services; respond to issues that arise during service delivery. Stay informed about new and discontinued services relevant to participants. Initiate appropriate referrals if needed. Encourage and monitor participant attendance at recommended appointments and classes. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of participant demographics, service data, and all contacts including meetings, calls, collateral contacts, and referrals. Enter participant information into the appropriate database in accordance with MVK policy and funding requirements. Become familiar with the Housing First Model and apply its principles when appropriate. Report suspected child, adult, or senior abuse or neglect following established non-emergency and emergency agency procedures, including contacting mandated reporting agencies. Serve as an advocate for participants by promoting dignity, offering encouragement, and delivering services in a professional, helpful, and participant-centered manner. Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent Valid California driver's license Case management experience preferred Experience working with vulnerable populations Ability to document services accurately and timely Understanding of trauma-informed and participant-centered service delivery is a plus
Skills:
Proficient in Microsoft office programs. Commitment to and understanding of the mission, values, and CREED of Martha's Village & Kitchen, demonstrating integrity, compassion, and service. Highly developed interpersonal skills and highly effective in working objectively with a diverse group of people. Team player willing to accept and promote organizational goals and function with minimal supervision. Ability to make decisions based on education preparation and experience, which reflect consistency with organization philosophy, policies, and procedures.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include ability to adjust focus. The employee will be required to drive to off-site locations.
