Job Description
Overview The Amelia Ann Adams Whole Life Center (AAAWLC) is a healing-centered, community-rooted nonprofit dedicated to advancing health, education, social justice, and healing in San Joaquin County. Since 2016, we have worked alongside residents to dismantle systemic barriers and build pathways for families to move from surviving to thriving. The Court Advocacy Case Manager will play a critical role in supporting youth and families involved in the court system through AAAWLC's Participatory Defense Hub. This position is rooted in advocacy, relationship-building, and healing-centered case management. The ideal candidate will walk alongside participants during some of their most challenging moments, attending court, coordinating with public defenders, and ensuring families feel seen, supported, and empowered throughout the legal process. Duties Court Advocacy & System Navigation Case Management & Participant Support Participatory Defense Hub Support Collaboration & Partnership Documentation & Compliance This is an in-person role requiring regular attendance at court hearings, community meetings, and office-based work Some evenings may be required for participatory defense meetings This position involves working with individuals experiencing trauma; emotional awareness and self-care are essential Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Criminal Justice, Psychology, or related field (or equivalent lived/professional experience) Minimum 2 years of experience in case management, advocacy, or justice-related work Experience working with system-impacted youth and/or families strongly preferred Familiarity with court systems, probation, or public defense is highly desirable Strong understanding of trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices Excellent communication, relationship-building, and organizational skills Join us in making a positive impact by advocating for vulnerable youth and strengthening families through compassionate support and expert guidance.
