Job Description

Boulder County Human Services Department is seeking to hire a Ongoing Lead Caseworker . A Lead Caseworker is a skilled and experienced caseworker with in-depth knowledge of the child welfare system and practices. This person will support and supervise caseworkers with case needs, especially when the supervisor is unavailable or out of the office. The Lead Caseworker also helps with team training and development, participating and supporting the team with Diversity, Equity and Inclusion work and provides case report and treatment plan feedback. The Lead Caseworker will maintain a caseload of ongoing cases that require skill and knowledge especially regarding substance use disorder cases. The Lead Caseworker will provide coaching and support to new staff, interact with leads on other teams, and work on ongoing section projects as requested. The Lead Caseworker is a member of the Family Integrated Treatment Court multidisciplinary team consisting of magistrates, attorney's, therapists, caseworkers and probation officers who provide frequent reviews and treatment for families experiencing issues related to substance disorders. This is a full-time, benefited position that will work Monday•Friday 8:00am•4:30pm with expected flexibility to meet the needs of families after hours . This position will work out of 515 Coffman St. , Longmont, Colorado. Under Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, this position is exempt . Boulder County requires its employees to reside in the state of Colorado as of the first day of work.
Hiring Salary Range :
$70,428.00•$85,908.00

Week of June 1st New employees receive an 80-hour bank of vacation at the time of hire, in addition to 8 hours of both vacation and medical leave accruals each month ( Must not have been employed at Boulder County during the 12 months prior to re-hire date to qualify ). Performs lead work duties, including reviewing case plans, case consultations, employee training and assisting caseworkers with difficult or complex cases Provides ongoing support and direction to address problems with youth at-risk of out of home placement, participating in multi-disciplinary staffing's to plan interventions Provides triage and guidance to families in acute situations Manages an Ongoing caseload of cases with unique needs and supports as an experienced caseworker Is a member of the Family Integrated Treatment Court multidisciplinary team consisting of magistrates, attorney's, therapists, caseworkers and probation officers who provide frequent reviews and treatment for families experiencing issues related to substance disorders Works with Lead Caseworkers in other teams and sections on intra-agency program development Performs related work, as required May be reassigned during emergency situations

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Boulder County is looking for well qualified candidates to fill our positions. Any combination of relevant education and experience is encouraged. In this position, we are looking for a minimum of: A bachelors degree in a human behavioral science AND 2 ( two) years of human services casework experience Additional related education may count towards required experience.

Familiarity with BCHS practice initiatives and able to demonstrate an ability to coach others in a supportive way
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Extensive knowledge of the theories, principles and concepts of social casework practice Strong, strength-based communication skills Well-versed in all areas of child welfare case practice, and able to work with families who present with child abuse concerns and youth beyond control of parent Ability to view families as leaders of their involvement and support family voice in case decision making Knowledge of ability to find community resources and agency rules related to Ongoing Child Welfare Skill in directing and monitoring work, and ability to write clear and consistent reports Ability to work effectively with other employees, clients, agency, and the public Knowledge of substance use and addiction disorders, recovery and treatment Skill in interviewing techniques and crisis intervention methods Skill in directing and monitoring the work of other employees Ability to write reports concisely Ability to work effectively with other employees, clients, agencies and the public
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Candidate must be able to lift up to 30 lbs.
