Pay:
 $50000-$58000 depending on experience Job description: Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Eligible for Direct Pay Non-Attorney (EDPNA) Social Security Hearing Representative to join our team. In this vital role you will serve as a key advocate for individuals navigating the Social Security Disability process ensuring their voices are heard and their needs are accurately represented during hearings. Your expertise in social work public health and motivational interviewing will empower clients to confidently present their cases. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in people's lives by providing clear guidance empathetic support and thorough preparation for social security hearings.
SSA'S EDPNA CERTIFICATE REQUIRED.
Responsibilities Prepare clients for social security hearings by explaining the process gathering necessary documentation and coaching them on how to effectively communicate their circumstances Conduct thorough assessments of clients' social and health backgrounds including nutrition and public health factors that impact their disability claims Utilize motivational interviewing techniques to build trust motivate clients to share their stories openly and strengthen their confidence during hearings Assist clients with budgeting and resource management to help them maintain stability while navigating the disability process Collaborate with legal representatives social workers and healthcare providers to compile comprehensive case files that accurately reflect each client's situation Advocate on behalf of clients during hearings by presenting relevant information clearly and confidently while adhering to procedural guidelines Maintain detailed records of client interactions assessments and case progress in compliance with agency policies Skills Strong knowledge of social work principles and practices especially related to disability advocacy and client support Expertise in motivational interviewing techniques to foster open communication and empower clients Familiarity with public health concepts including nutrition and community health resources that influence client well-being Ability to manage budgets or financial resources effectively while guiding clients through financial planning related to disability benefits Excellent communication skills—both verbal and written—to clearly articulate case details and advocate effectively during hearings Compassionate demeanor combined with a proactive approach to problem-solving in high-pressure situations Ability to collaborate seamlessly with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive client support Join us in making a tangible difference by helping individuals secure the benefits they deserve!
