Community Mental Health Worker- Bilingual Spanish Speaker

Mental Health America of Southeast Florida is seeking a full-time Community Mental Health Worker who is passionate about helping families in the Coral Springs, Pompano/Deerfield Beach area connect with the resources they need to overcome trauma and related challenges. The ideal candidate will have strong verbal and written communication skills, knowledge of strength-based approaches, familiarity with local resources, and familiarity with wrap-around services.

Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain strong community connections and an understanding of populations experiencing trauma Help develop and execute community-focused events to promote wellness and support for families Communicate effectively with program staff, service providers, and other agency personnel Ensure that the quality and quantity of services provided aligns with contractual obligations and state regulations Implement changes as directed to improve program performance and efficiency Successfully execute programs and community events from inception to completion Understand laws, regulations, and policies that apply to program objectives Work with individual families to address trauma and institutional barriers

Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent (required) Spanish fluency (required) Knowledge of strength-based approaches and wrap-around services (preferred) Reliable transportation (required) Ability to work some evening and weekend hours (required) Reside in the Coral Springs, Deerfield/Pompano Beach area (required) Strong community connections in Coral Springs, Deerfield or Pompano Beach Willingness to complete a mandatory, paid 30-hour training and pass a background screening and drug test (required) We offer a competitive salary starting at $37,000 per year, as well as a benefits package that includes 401(k), dental and health insurance, and paid time off.
