Proactively identify missing information or procedural issues that may delay case progression. Support attorneys by managing administrative workflow and reducing case management bottlenecks. Required Qualifications Minimum 1-2 years of experience in legal case management, probate administration, litigation support, paralegal support, or legal office administration. Prior experience working in a law firm, banking, probate practice, litigation office, or legal services environment preferred. Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple active files simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines. High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail. Strong document management and administrative support experience. Knowledge & Experience Requirements The ideal candidate should demonstrate knowledge of: Probate administration procedures and estate-related legal filings. Litigation case workflow and court filing procedures. Legal document preparation using templates and attorney-approved forms. Court deadlines, scheduling requirements, and procedural compliance. Case management systems and legal file organization. Document review, evidence organization, and supporting file documentation. Communication protocols with courts, attorneys, and legal stakeholders. Managing deadlines in a fast-paced legal environment. Maintaining accurate records and procedural workflow under attorney supervision. Work Environment & Temperament Requirements At Dortch Law Firm, we operate with urgency, precision, and high expectations. Our environment is fast-moving and demanding — results are non-negotiable and timelines are tight. This is a role for someone who is not only professionally skilled but also mentally and emotionally equipped to perform under pressure. Our managing attorney leads with warmth and genuine investment in the team. However, when deadlines, clients, and case outcomes are on the line, communication becomes direct, expectations become non-negotiable, and performance is measured in real time. The transition between these modes is not gradual, and not everyone can navigate it effectively. We are specifically looking for a candidate who: Does not conflate directness with hostility. Constructive urgency is a leadership style, not a personal attack. Maintains composure, professionalism, and output quality when the pace or tone of the environment accelerates. Can receive pointed, frank feedback in the moment and immediately redirect energy toward solving the problem. Does not shut down, become defensive, or require excessive hand-holding when expectations are communicated with force. Understands that high-functioning legal environments demand both relational warmth and uncompromising accountability — often within the same conversation. Has the self-awareness to distinguish between a difficult moment and an untenable situation, and the resilience to push through the former. If you thrive under structured pressure, take pride in delivering when the stakes are high, and have the psychological fortitude to work in a high-performance environment without taking the heat personally; this role was built for you. If you need a consistently gentle environment to perform at your best, this may not be the right fit. Ideal Candidate We are seeking a candidate who: Is highly organized and extremely detail-oriented. Can manage multiple legal matters efficiently and independently. Understands the importance of meeting legal deadlines and maintaining accuracy. Communicates professionally with clients, attorneys, and court personnel. Is proactive in identifying issues and preventing workflow delays. Thrives in a fast-paced legal environment and supports team success. Demonstrates consistent resilience, adaptability, and professionalism regardless of the circumstances.
