The North Georgia Conference of The United Methodist Church is seeking a compassionate and organized Disaster Case Manager Support to assist in ongoing recovery efforts for survivors of Hurricane Helene in the Augusta area. This grant-funded position plays a vital role in helping affected individuals and families return to safe, secure, and stable living environments through love, acceptance, kindness, and grace. The Disaster Case Manager Support will work closely with the Disaster Case Management (DCM) team to identify, screen, and connect survivors with the assistance they need. This position combines administrative and client-facing responsibilities, supporting both the coordination of case management operations and direct service to individuals referred to partner agencies. Key Responsibilities Client Screening & Intake Conduct initial outreach and screening with disaster survivors to determine needs and eligibility for assistance. Document client information accurately and ensure proper referral to the appropriate Disaster Case Manager or partner organization. Team Support & Coordination Support the DCM team in maintaining organized systems, tracking client progress, and managing case documentation. Assist with scheduling, data entry, and communication between partners, volunteers, and community agencies. Client Services & Referrals Provide follow-up and support for clients being referred to other community services or resources. Maintain strong working relationships with local partners to ensure coordinated recovery efforts. Community Outreach Participate in outreach events, resource fairs, and community meetings to identify unmet needs and connect survivors with available support. Administrative Support Assist in compiling reports, maintaining client files, and supporting DCMs with grant compliance and documentation requirements. Initial Case Management Qualifications Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate, service-oriented approach. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team in a fast-paced and emotionally sensitive environment. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems (experience with client management systems preferred). Experience in social services, disaster recovery, or nonprofit work is preferred but not required.
Additional Information Term:
This is a grant-funded position . Salary is $21/ hour.
Location:
Based in Augusta, GA, with possible travel in Richmond, Columbia, & McDuffie counties for outreach and meetings.
