Job Description

Opportunity Center Assistant Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers - 1851 South Lumpkin Road. Columbus, GA Goodwill Southern Rivers is currently seeking an Opportunity Center Assistant, a key member of the team, supporting the day-to-day operations of the Opportunity Center, and ensuring the smooth and effective operation of programs within the center. The center assistant requires a flexible and professional individual who is capable of multitasking, taking initiative, and working independently to complete assigned tasks and projects. The center assistant is he first voice and face of the center. Goodwill Industries of the Southern Rivers, Inc.'s Opportunity Center Assistant's responsibilities: Serve as the first point of contact by warmly welcoming visitors, directing inquiries, and managing incoming calls Help organize meetings, events, and audits, while keeping shared spaces—like the lobby, computer area, bathrooms, and breakroom—clean and inviting. Schedule appointments for clients with various team members. Assist clients with registration and check-ins, record client activities in the case management system, and refer clients to appropriate internal and external resources. Support a variety of onsite, offsite, and virtual programs and events—including hiring events, workshops, and community gatherings, which may occasionally occur on evenings or some Saturdays. Support students and prospective students by assisting with forms, scheduling orientations, tutoring, and career coaching appointments. Manage enrollment in the case management system, verify IDs, and issue student badges. Oversee daily sign-ins, prepare test tickets and vouchers for TABE assessments, and monitor all testing sessions. Serve as a backup to generate monthly academic and case management reports. Contact adult education and academic enrichment partners regularly regarding student intake, referral, or support services. Ensure referral forms are completed and returned to the case management team and upload the referral form in the case management system. Conduct outreach calls to promote events and job placement services, and document in the case management system. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements :
Requires a level of knowledge typically gained through completion of an associate degree program. Minimum three (3) years of previous experience.
