Monday
  • Friday, 8:30am
  • 5:00pm Pay rate: $17.00

Discounts on wide array of services/entertainment nationwide The Peer Coordinator is responsible for: Recruiting volunteers for the Recovery Center and provides pre-service orientation and training to peer volunteers. Working closely with peer volunteers to plan, implement and evaluate program activities. Overseeing work performed by peer volunteers. Helping facilitate volunteer committees. Providing recovery coaching to participants. Performing case management activities regarding initial housing, job search, medical services, insurance, social services, education, etc. Coordinating continuing recovery referrals including scheduling of initial appointments. Demonstrating cultural competency in working with participants, employees, referral agencies and others from diverse ethnicities, cultures and backgrounds. Maintaining and preparing reports as directed. Assisting with crisis management and other emergencies as needed.
Qualifications:
One year of experience in a substance abuse program preferred Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel preferred Must have excellent verbal, social and writing skills Must display the use of appropriate independent judgment to determine appropriate course of action in resolving problems and in emergencies Must be able to express self adequately in written and oral communication and to communicate effectively in an interdisciplinary, culturally diverse setting
