Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM Start Date:
As soon as possible Experience:
3 to 5 years in life insurance brokerage, case management, or underwriting preferred; candidates with less experience but strong fundamentals will be considered Relocation:
Relocation assistance may be available for the right candidate About the Role We are a well-established, family-owned boutique independent life insurance firm serving clients and their professional advisors, including attorneys, trustees, business owners, and estate planning professionals. As a family-owned firm, we operate with a level of care and commitment that larger organizations rarely match. Our team is small and close-knit. This is not a large agency with layers of management and dozens of staff. Every member of the team carries real responsibility and works directly with principals and advisors on complex, consequential cases. We are looking for a New Business Case Manager who can own the life insurance process from application through policy delivery. We are not looking for someone who needs to learn the industry from scratch, but character, judgment, and the ability to learn matter as much as experience. What matters most in this office is integrity, discretion, and decorum. Attention to detail, sound judgment, and the capacity to handle complex work matter as much as industry experience. What You Will Do You will own the entire life insurance new business process. Day to day that means:
Taking an application from submission to placement, managing every step in between and knowing what to do in the face of hurdles Presenting clients to underwriters accurately and thoughtfully, including cases with health, lifestyle, or financial complexity Scheduling and coordinating client medical exams, ordering medical records with correct HIPAA authorizations, and managing all outstanding underwriting requirements Managing pending cases across multiple active files simultaneously without losing track of where anything stands, including maintaining and updating daily new business tracking reports Reading competing offers from multiple carriers and knowing when to negotiate with underwriters to reach the best outcome for a given client Preparing and sending new business correspondence and managing communications with carriers, clients, and advisors throughout the process Managing the policy delivery process including delivery requirements, copying and preparing new policy packets, and placement confirmation Navigating different carrier portals, illustration systems, and submission processes across a multi-carrier environment and getting up to speed on new ones quickly Working directly with carrier case managers, sales teams, and underwriters to complete the underwriting process Maintaining accurate, organized client files and inputting new policy information into the CRM system Tracking and maintaining up-to-date licensing, appointments, and CE credits for brokers across multiple carriers and states What We Are Looking For Preferred Experience Hands-on exposure to life insurance new business, case management, or underwriting with understanding of how the process works Real familiarity with how underwriting decisions are made, including how to think through a case that is not straightforward Experience working in a multi-carrier environment and navigating the differences between how carriers operate, including carrier portals and illustration systems Exposure to estate planning, business planning, trust ownership structures, or cases involving complex financial and legal arrangements is a meaningful advantage A note on career history: we recognize that some of the strongest candidates in this field stepped away from the workforce for a period to raise children or meet family obligations, or transitioned into a different industry for a time. A gap in employment or a period outside of insurance is not disqualifying. If you have a solid foundation in this work and are ready to bring it to a role where it will matter, we want to hear from you. Skills and Qualities Critical thinking and sound judgment Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy; the ability to read, interpret, and act on application instructions, carrier websites, and underwriting correspondence Ability to manage a pipeline of active cases simultaneously, with the common sense to prioritize what matters most Self-direction:
you manage your own workload, follow through without being chased, and flag problems early Clear, professional written and verbal communication appropriate for carriers, advisors, attorneys, clients, and other parties Professional discretion and a deep commitment to client confidentiality in all circumstances Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and comfort learning new carrier platforms, illustration software, CRM, and case management systems quickly A Note on Fit This is a small office. There is no large administrative support team and no formal training program, but we do offer a close-knit, professional environment where good work is recognized and the opportunity for learning is real and rewarding. The person who will thrive here is someone with strong character, who is both eager to grow and has a genuine interest in doing this kind of work well. Compensation and Benefits We offer a competitive compensation package for candidates who bring the right experience to this role. Specific benefits will be discussed with qualified candidates during the interview process. Base Salary:
$70,000 to $85,000 depending on experience Schedule:
