Therapeutic Mentor

Worcester County, MA MENTORS Excellent opportunity for experienced Mentors to work as part of a Family Stabilization/ In-Home Therapy/ Therapeutic Mentor Team to assist male youth ages 3-21 in developing appropriate communication skills, enhancing conflict resolution skills and teaching of pro-social strategies through targeted activities in accordance with their individual action plan. Expose youth to social situations in which age appropriate skills can be acquired and practiced, through role playing and behavioral rehearsals. Serve as a positive role model, reinforce importance of school, foster good study skills and work habits and provide youth with the information they need to make healthy, mature choices. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours. Working knowledge of child welfare systems and experience working with DCF involved families strongly preferred. This is a full time position with benefits.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's or associate's degree in a human services field from an accredited university and at least one (2) year experience working with children, adolescents or transition age youth. . Reliable transportation, valid driver's license required and must pass a CORI check. Spanish speaking individuals are also encouraged to apply
