We are currently recruiting a Foster Care Caseworker. This full-time position pays $60,000 annually and is located in Prince George's County, MD This is a direct hire opportunity in partnership with CONCERN - Professional Services for Children, Youth, and Families. The Foster Care Caseworker plays a critical role in supporting children in foster care by serving as a consistent advocate and liaison among schools, foster families, and service providers. This position requires flexibility to meet the needs of assigned caseloads and offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in the lives of foster youth.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Manage a caseload of approximately 10 foster youth. Serve as a primary advocate for foster children, ensuring safety, well-being, and stability. Act as a liaison between foster youth, foster families, schools, and community service providers. Attend school meetings and act in a parental or guardian role when necessary. Conduct regular in-person visits and ongoing check-ins with youth and caregivers. Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and guidance to foster youth. Coordinate services and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support client needs. Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant documentation and case notes. Participate in court reviews, case planning sessions, and team meetings. Travel locally to client homes, schools, and community locations. Additional duties as assigned.Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently; must be self-motivated. Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills. Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to understand and adhere to the duties, methods, and procedures required by the position.Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Social Work or a related field, required. Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in social work, case management, or a related field, preferred. Licensure not required at hire; employer will support and sponsor licensure.Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Standard hours of work Monday through Friday, with flexibility required based on caseload needs; evening and weekend hours may be required. Travel is required for client visits, including schools and homes. Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) check are required.
