Samaritas is hiring a Case Manager to support refugee and asylee populations in the Grand Rapids area as they work toward employment and long-term self-sufficiency. About the Role As a Case Manager, Refugee Employment, you will provide culturally and linguistically responsive services to individuals navigating employment in a new country. You will play a key role in helping clients overcome barriers, connect with employers, and build sustainable careers. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with employers, community organizations, and internal teams while guiding clients every step of the way. Key Responsibilities Maintain knowledge of program requirements, local labor market trends, and employment opportunities Develop Family Self-Sufficiency Plans (FSSP) and Individual Employability Plans (IEP) in collaboration with clients Connect clients to employment services and resources that address barriers to work Conduct regular client check-ins, including face-to-face meetings and employment status updates Assist clients with job search activities, applications, and interview preparation Partner with Job Developers to match clients with job opportunities Provide ongoing support to ensure job retention and career advancement Assist clients in obtaining Employment Authorization Documents and required documentation Maintain accurate reports, case notes, and service data Participate in community outreach and collaborate with local organizations, employers, and stakeholders Qualifications Bachelor's degree in a human services-related field preferred, or a combination of education and relevant experience Experience At least one year of case management experience working with multicultural populations required Experience working with refugee populations preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong interpersonal, presentation, and facilitation skills Knowledge of employment processes including recruiting, interviewing, and job placement Ability to build relationships with employers, community partners, and agencies Cultural competency and ability to work effectively with diverse populations Strong assessment skills to identify client strengths, needs, and barriers Ability to communicate effectively in English; bilingual skills preferred Proficiency or willingness to learn computer programs including Excel Additional Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Reliable personal transportation and proof of automobile insurance Ability to travel locally to support clients Physical Requirements Ability to move between indoor and outdoor environments Frequent standing, bending, and lifting up to 25 pounds Manual dexterity and coordination for daily tasks Why Join Samaritas Meaningful, mission-driven work that directly impacts lives Opportunity to support individuals on their path to self-sufficiency Collaborative, diverse, and purpose-driven work environment Start Making a Difference Today If you are passionate about empowering others, enjoy working in a people-focused environment, and want to help individuals build brighter futures, apply today and join a team committed to creating lasting change. #refugee #NewAmericans #MichiganJobs #CaseManagement #kalamazooJobs
